Emily and Drew were the epitome of Rustic Romance on their wedding this past month! Emily's beautiful bridesmaids were in the perfect seasonal shade of maroon with unique all greenery bouquets. Not to be outdone by the girls, the groomsmen were decked out in navy suits with just a touch of dark maroon ranunculus boutonnieres. St. Patrick's Cathedral was the most beautiful venue for this afternoon ceremony, while guests were invited to the recently renovated Mopac Event Center for drinks and dancing. Rustic simplistic design was brought in on the all greenery tablescapes adorned with an abundance of candles. This bride's style dripped through every unique accent of her wedding- from her fur coat to her DIY Cake table display. The end of the night ended with a bang with the perfect sparkler exit as the newlyweds were whisked off to enjoy their new lives together! Congrats to Emily and Drew!

2018 is finally here and underneath all these sweaters and scarves, I am already dreaming of the days when we can shed our layers and celebrate the vibrant vibes of spring! An abundance of mixed textures and rich colors made this the ultimate fall styled shoot. Foraged unruly greenery against a dark blue backdrop created a stunning moody canvas for this perfectly chaotic tablescape to truly pop. Seasonal fruits were sprawled throughout the table, paired with bright floral arrangements and mixed metallics. Delicate hand drawn invitations created just the right amount of romance and femininity to go with the powerful jewel tones of the shoot. Every detail was dripping with texture that gave us all the moody fall feels!
Time sure does fly when you're having fun! I cannot believe Sistered States has been in business for 6 months now. So to celebrate this little milestone, I am recapping my favorite 6 moments from the last 6 months!
We are still swooning over this end of summer Southern shoot! Every detail was dripping with southern charm creating a sophisticated affair. A timeless silver tablescape was accented with pops of blue and a low lush floral arrangement. Mint Juleps served on a natural wood bar were the perfect charming refreshment for this summer soiree. And not to mention, the white wood barn was abundant in natural light, creating the most stunning backdrop for this southern couple. See the full feature on Swooned!
Now that it is finally October, we can fully embrace the pumpkin spice lattes and chunky sweaters without guilt! With the leaves falling and the weather cooling down, it has brought a spark of inspiration my way so I am sharing some unique ways to incorporate fall into your big day! (along with lots of seasonal puns.)
As a small business owner, it is so important to get involved with charities and to give back to a community. Lucky for me, my very own sweet mama started a nonprofit organization that has allowed me an avenue to share my time and my extra lovin' towards a very deserving group of people. Savvy Giving by Design is a nonprofit organization that makes over the rooms of not only children facing life threatening illnesses, but also their siblings- giving the entire family a ray of sunshine through a dark time.
Your bridesmaids are the girls who will give up an entire weekend to make sure you look pretty and to hold your dress when you pee… So you better believe they deserve a kick-ass gift! If you want to avoid the generic “bridesmaids/bride tribe/I-do crew” t-shirt that will inevitably end up in their pile of sleep shirts, here are some gifts that are sure to make your bridezilla moments worth it
R Love Floral was an easy choice for this week's Vendor Highlight Series, and it is not hard to see why! R Love was started in 2010 by Raquel and has blossomed (excuse the flower pun) ever since. Raquel has always had a passion for flowers and starting her own business, even designing flower arrangements from her mother's garden when she was younger. She has grown R Love into the amazingly unique and stylish business it is now! Take a look
Everyone who has ever been in a wedding, attended a wedding, or has ever watched a wedding in a movie could tell you this one- It's bad luck for a groom to see his bride in her wedding dress before the wedding. Some perceive this as a romantic gesture, while others see it as a superstition. However, the origin of this tradition has almost nothing to do with romantic gestures or superstitions.
Tareka Lofton of Loft22 Cakes has been designing colorful and unique cakes since 2013, in addition to opening a brand new storefront in Fort Worth this year. She has created an urban laid-back neighborhood bakery where anyone can pop in and enjoy some of her amazing creations
Jessica Blass, the amazing girl boss behind Jessica Gold Photography, has been photographing weddings for the past five years and is also one of my favorite photographers to work with! Not only does Jessica have an amazing eye for capturing the perfect lighting in all your special moments, but she is exactly the kind of fun and outgoing person you want beside you throughout your big day!
Almost every girl grows up dreaming of her wedding day- what dress she will wear, what her cake will look like, what her first dance will be. But, there comes a time where that little girl grows up, and starts dreaming of her bachelorette party!
The inception of Sistered States as the name of my event business came from my Californian childhood and my Texas adulthood. I was born and raised in sunny San Diego and spent my youth down by the beach and out in the sun. I made my eastern migration to Texas for college and fell in love with football games and southern hospitality. When I created my business, I wanted a name that represented me- my past, my present, my future.
Here you will find a little mix of everything that Sistered States is up to! That means tons of wedding inspiration, mixed in with tips and tricks on planning your own wedding! I hope you enjoy all of it.
