Planning a Wedding at Round Hill Resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica

One of my favorite and most repeated venues in my repertoire (for a reason) is Round Hill Resort and Villas in Montego Bay Jamaica! This resort is the epitome of tropical luxury. With a heavy hand from Ralph Lauren in the design and curation of the hotel, you literally feel like you are stepping into a magazine! So how does one plan a wedding at Round Hill? I will tell you exactly what that process looks like!

Booking the hotel

Obviously the first step will be reaching out to the venue for date availability and pricing! Round Hill does event pricing on a food/bev minimum basis, so they will give you a total that will need to be spent throughout the weekend there! Most weddings at Round Hill tend to consist of a few different events, most commonly: welcome party, rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony, wedding reception, farewell brunch- but you can really customize it to whatever you would like!

For guest count, you can have up to 150 guests for a room block; once you go over 150, they do require you to do a complete buyout of the hotel! If you are under 150 guests, who will have a contracted room block with a mix of single rooms and multiple bedroom villas that you will need to fill. Most commonly, my couples at Round Hill will rent out Villa 20 for the bride and groom to stay in with either family/wedding party, and the rest of the guests will be split amongst the smaller villas and individual rooms in the Pineapple House! One thing we always help our clients with is calculating just the right amount of rooms to include in your room block so that all your guests are covered, but you are not stuck paying for rooms that go unbooked!

Welcome Party

There are a few different options for a welcome party at Round Hill, but most commonly you will either see a welcome party on the beach, or at the bride and groom’s villa! I have done it both ways with my couples and both offer a different kind of vibe! The beach is great because it is centrally located, guests can kick off their shoes and immediately start relaxing the second they check in! They will get a nice ‘lay of the land’ with the beach being in the main lobby area of the hotel, and it lends for a more casual mix/mingle vibe for the first night! The alternative would be doing the welcome party at the bride and groom’s villa, most commonly Villa 20! This is another really fun option for the rehearsal dinner because it not only shows off the incredible grounds of Villa 20, but also has a little more of a cozy private vibe for your guests. Villa 20 is essentially a giant house, so it feels like you are hosting all of your family and friends in your stunning backyard. A welcome party at the Villa will also allow you to be separate from the other hotel guests at the resort, creating a more intimate atmosphere to kick off the wedding weekend! Rehearsal Dinner

If you don’t utilize the beach for your welcome party, it makes for a fantastic venue for the rehearsal dinner! Adorned with tikki torches and string lights, the beach offers such a fun tropical vibe for a rehearsal dinner. There is something so chic about guests in cocktail attire kicking off their shoes to dig their toes into the sand under the dinner table! If you do your welcome party on the beach, then I would recommend doing the rehearsal dinner at one of the Villas! I had a previous couple do an intimate rehearsal dinner at Villa 17 on the pool deck! Once again, hosting an event at the Villa feels more intimate and private, and since the Villas sit high up on the hill, it allows for another gorgeous viewpoint for guests! One last option for a rehearsal dinner location (based on your guest count) is the infinity pool deck! One of my 2026 clients will be using the pool deck for her rehearsal dinner and I can’t wait to switch it up and let you know how it compares to the beach! Wedding Ceremony and Cocktail Hour

Most commonly, the area used for the wedding ceremony and cocktail hour at Round Hill is their luscious Spa Lawn! The Spa Lawn is on the very edge of the Round Hill Property and allows you to look out onto the hotel from across the bay! The lawn is surrounded by a jungle of trees and offers an amazing view of the water! One of my favorite things about the Spa Lawn is actually the walking path that guests will take to get from the cocktail hour back to the reception near the main hotel. The walk is a gorgeous path along the waters edge that is lined with tikki torches and even more lush greenery! It always makes for THE BEST pictures! Wedding Reception

Although you do have the option to also have the wedding reception on the Spa Lawn, I most commonly see the reception at the Hanover Terrace/Hanover Room. The Hanover Terrace is the breakfast restaurant at the hotel, so it allows for an easy set up for the wedding reception, since the space is virtually unused after breakfast! With a gorgeous tree in the center of the terrace, you can transform the space with hanging willow lights and lanterns. The space will allow for either round or long tables and offers the perfect viewpoint to catch the sunset at the start of your reception! If your guest count is over 150 and you do a buyout of the hotel, you are also able to do the reception at the dinner restaurant and the iconic Ralph Lauren Cocktail Bar! Activities at Round Hill

One of the amazing things about Round Hill is that once your guest’s arrive, they don’t have to ever leave the resort to have an amazing time! Round hill offers glass boat tours, paddle boarding, an incredible Spa and fitness center, and of course a pristine beach and infinity pool! One of the other beautiful features of Round Hill is their amazing tennis courts! My recent clients took advantage of the tennis courts with a pickleball tournament for their guests on Friday morning of the wedding weekend! It was a huge hit and the memories will last them a lifetime!

Traveling to/from Jamaica

The guest wedding experience starts from the second they step foot off the plane, and Round Hill makes it a very painless airport process for guests! Guests will fly into Montego Bay airport, and once they land, they will proceed right to the Round Hill desk after customs and get on a pre-arranged hotel shuttle to take them straight to the resort! As a full service wedding planner, I also assist all guests with making their hotel reservations and airport transfers to make for a smooth travel process!

Coming up!

Luckily Round Hill seems to be a repeat venue for us for years to come! We are currently planning a December 2025 and a November 2026 wedding at this gorgeous resort! If you are wanting to get married at Round Hill in 2026, 2027, or beyond - please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions!!
