Before the Big Day:
Elyse wasn’t just one of my brides, she was a sorority sister! Elyse hired me as her first wedding vendor after securing her venues- The Robert Carr Chapel and Fort Worth Club. With a September wedding, Elyse wanted to embrace the colors of the season and use rich tones of maroon and navy throughout her wedding design. For Elyse and Gavin, we created an Autumnal and elegant design board that would reflect on both the season and the sophisticated downtown Fort Worth venue she chose for the reception.
Both being TCU alums, Elyse and Gavin decided to get married at the Robert Carr Chapel on TCU’s campus. The picturesque campus and chapel served as the perfect backdrop for their special first look and family portraits. Despite the gloomy weather, this wedding party was full of smiles and laughter. Elyse and Gavin said I do in front of their closest friends and family, with Elyse’s brothers even serving as her “brides-men.” After the ceremony, guests made the short trip downtown to the Fort Worth Club for the reception.
One of the first things Elyse told me when we began planning her wedding was that she wanted it to be an intimate dinner for her closest family and friends. With the guest list small, we created upscale and curated place settings for each guest. Vintage plates, custom menus, and magnolia leaf place cards were complemented with an abundance of organic and textured flower arrangements. Elyse and Gavin sat at a sweetheart table with a custom floral boxwood backdrop. On the other side of their table was a bench, where guests were encouraged to come and visit with the couple while they were eating. The night ended with a cake cutting and toasts from Elyse and Gavin’s loved ones!
